The Eastern Theater of the Civil War encompasses battles fought in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, as well as the seaports of North Carolina
Many of the war's most significant battles occurred in this theater, including First and Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and the Overland Campaign.
